Leading Exploration & Production Company who have developed an international portfolio of Oil & Gas assets currently require the expertise of a Senior Exploration Geologist to join their Exploration Team in Australia. 

 

A proven Exploration Geologist who is capable of integrating geological and geophysical data to generate, mature and evaluate economic oil and gas prospects will be responsible for the following: - 

• Compile fully integrated subsurface interpretations to evaluate prospect primary risk parameters of structure presence, structure effectiveness, reservoir presence, reservoir effectiveness and charge
• Identify and evaluate prospects available through farm-ins and joint venture opportunities
• Interpret technical data over existing lease inventory, finalize maps and support data, evaluate risk and prepare recommendations
• Evaluate and advise of geological and seismic data acquisition opportunities, seismic data reprocessing, new technology applications and technical services
• Exploration plans & appropriation requests, monitor drilling wells & conduct post drill reviews
• Recommend and manage geoscientific studies with internal and external service providers
• Assist in the preparation of volumetric & economic analyses for prospects & well locations
• Recognise and recommend commercially attractive business opportunities.
• Help high-grade acreage in which to pursue new play concepts within region
• Monitor/evaluate competitor activity
• Build and maintain cross departmental technical relationships

 

The successful Senior Exploration Geologist will be educated in a Geological, Geophysics or related discipline and possess upwards of 12 years exploration experience working in an exploration & production environment. You will have a strong hands-on technical background in the application of geological technologies such as 2D and 3D seismic reflection data and their associated products such as AVO/AVA, inverse and forward modelling, post-stack and pre-stack time & depth migration. In addition you will be expected to present to internal management and mentor junior members of your team, therefore excellent communication skills are essential.
